A Sydney photographer who’s seen it all, and chose to do it differently

I’m Emma, founder and photographer at ELB Photography - a boutique portrait studio in Sydney’s Hills District, dedicated to creating timeless, family, newborn, and pet portraits.

Before opening my photography studio in Sydney, I spent years working in large, high-volume photography environments, capturing dozens of families each week. It was fast, polished, and professional, but something was missing - time, connection, and genuine care. 

I saw families rushed through their sessions, unsure of what to expect and often left feeling like just another number. I knew there had to be a better way, one that valued honesty, transparency, and human connection just as much as beautiful results. 

That’s why I created ELB Photography: a calm, fully guided studio experience in Castle Hill, Sydney that blends the polished quality of professional portraiture with the warmth and sincerity of genuine connection. 

Here, every detail is thoughtfully handled - no hidden costs, no pressure, no rushed moments. This is a space where you can feel comfortable, cared for, and confident that your story is being told with the attention it deserves.

5 THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT ME

I’m a proud cat mum to Suki and Kuro. They often keep me company while editing and occasionally try to “help.”

I started my career photographing dozens of families each week in a high-volume studio. It taught me speed and precision, but more importantly, the value of slowing down. 

Coffee is my morning ritual, and my editing fuel.

My studio playlist is filled with soft acoustic music; chosen to keep sessions relaxed and easy for both humans and pets.

I love storytelling in all forms, from portraits, to films, and books that make you feel something. That’s what I aim to create through my work: emotion, memory, connection.
